Recommended professional development includes but are not limited to: 

  • Attendance at a conference at least every other year.
  • Attending a professional development workshop at least once a year.

The IOP provides two to three professional development workshops per year, focusing on key areas of organisational psychology. The workshops aim to provide members with:

  • Up-to-date research on what works in the field
  • The opportunity to reflect on their own practice
  • The opportunity to share and network with others

  • Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury Alumni and Friends Night 2026

    The UC MSc I-O (previously APSY) programme is bringing you our 2026 Student Showcase and APSY Alumni & Friends Evening!

     

    We’ve got two exciting events lined up:

    3:00PM – An afternoon Student Research Showcase featuring presentations from all of this year’s amazing researchers.

    5:30PM – An evening session with speeches, a panel discussion, drinks, nibbles, and networking.

     

    Tickets are available for either or both events, and while we’d love to see you at both to support our Part 2 Masters students, feel free to join us for either the afternoon or the evening session if your schedule is tight!

  • 16th APS Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference October 2026

    Hosted by the Australian Psychological Society and the APS College of Organisational Psychologists in Melbourne, Australia, October 29–31, 2026.

  • Institute of Organisational Psychology Symposium and ANZOPOB 2026

    The 15th Aotearoa New Zealand Organisational Psychology and Organisational Behaviour (ANZOPOB) Conference is taking place at Massey University, Albany, Auckland on 19–20 November 2026 (Thursday and Friday), hosted by the School of Psychology, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Massey University.

    Whether you’re a scholar, consultant or student, we invite you to join us as a delegate.

    Day 1 (19th November 2026, Thursday) – Practitioner Symposium
    In partnership with the Institute of Organisational Psychology, this day brings together applied psychologists and consultants to share real-world insights through case studies, lightning talks, and interactive workshops.

    Day 2 (20th November 2026, Friday) – Academic Conference
    A full day of peer-reviewed presentations covering research, theory, and practice in organisational behaviour and organisational psychology.

  • Centre for Good Work Update

    This breakfast session on 8 April 2027 will provide an update on the work of the Centre for Good Work, by Sanna Malinen and Katharina Näswall, and include results of a survey. More information to follow!

    The Breakfast will be at Joes Garage, 7 Leslie Street. Networking and breakfast at 7.30 and the talk will be 8-9am. RSVP to john.eatwell@spgroup.nz.
