As AI increasingly takes on routine and administrative work, organisations are rethinking workforce models, graduate recruitment and career pathways. But if people no longer learn through the work that traditionally built expertise, how do we develop professional judgement, capability and future leaders? Drawing on insights from Deloitte’s 2026 Human Capital Trends research, Deloitte’s Gen Z and Millennial Survey, and practical experiences from Deloitte and our clients, this interactive discussion will explore how organisations can balance productivity gains with the long-term development of human capability. Together, we’ll examine a fundamental question: If AI can do the work people traditionally learned from, what becomes the apprenticeship model of the future?

Yvette Keys is a Partner in Deloitte New Zealand’s Human Capital practice and leads the South Island Human Capital team. A Registered Psychologist with a Master of Science (Honours) in Applied Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Yvette specialises in organisation transformation, workforce strategy, leadership development and change management. Over her career, she has worked with organisations across the public and private sectors to navigate large-scale transformation, build organisational capability and prepare workforces for future challenges. Yvette has led workforce and change programmes spanning health, agriculture, infrastructure, local government and education sectors, including some of New Zealand’s largest transformation initiatives. Yvette is particularly interested in the intersection of technology, workforce transformation and human capability. Her work focuses on helping organisations balance innovation and productivity with the development of the skills, judgement and leadership capability needed for long-term success.

Members are invited to register for the second Global Work and Organizational Psychology (G-WOP) Conference, an annual initiative delivered in collaboration with more than 20 professional work, industrial, organizational, and occupational psychology societies and governing bodies worldwide.

The conference starts at 12pm (UTC) on Thursday 17th September 2026 and will run a continuous single stream for 24 hours.

The conference brings together psychologists, researchers, practitioners, educators, and students from across the global community for 24 hours of connection, learning, and collaboration. As the world of work continues to evolve, presenting both new opportunities and complex challenges, G-WOP provides a unique opportunity to share ideas, learn from international perspectives, and strengthen the global profession.

The conference will take place in a unique virtual format, with a continuous 24-hour program spanning multiple time zones. This approach enables colleagues around the world to participate at times that are convenient for them, while all sessions will be recorded and made available to members of participating organizations after the event.

The 15th Aotearoa New Zealand Organisational Psychology and Organisational Behaviour (ANZOPOB) Conference is taking place at Massey University, Albany, Auckland on 19–20 November 2026 (Thursday and Friday), hosted by the School of Psychology, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Massey University.

Whether you’re a scholar, consultant or student, we invite you to submit your work and/or join us as a delegate.

Day 1 (19th November 2026, Thursday) – Practitioner Symposium
In partnership with the Institute of Organisational Psychology, this day brings together applied psychologists and consultants to share real-world insights through case studies, lightning talks, and interactive workshops.

Day 2 (20th November 2026, Friday) – Academic Conference
A full day of peer-reviewed presentations covering research, theory, and practice in organisational behaviour and organisational psychology.
