Recommended professional development includes but are not limited to:
- Attendance at a conference at least every other year.
- Attending a professional development workshop at least once a year.
The IOP provides two to three professional development workshops per year, focusing on key areas of organisational psychology. The workshops aim to provide members with:
- Up-to-date research on what works in the field
- The opportunity to reflect on their own practice
- The opportunity to share and network with others

Whats a good psychometric instrument?
The next Org Psych Discussion Group will be Tuesday 5 May at 4.00pm, Joes Garage 7 Leslie Street. People can also join online if they would like to.
The topic will be psychometric assessments – what makes a good one and what is their place in today’s environment. During the discussion on Leadership Development Programmes we started down a rabbit hole talking about assessment so I thought it would be a good opportunity to have a fuller discussion.
I’ve attached a chapter Ian Wilson and myself wrote on the use of psychometric assessments a review of a test as an example. In the talk we can go through the key criteria to look at in evaluating a psychometric assessment and the worked example. If you have a favourite – or a love to hate – assessment perhaps you could do a review and bring it to the session to share?

Centre for Good Work Update
This breakfast session on 8 April 2027 will provide an update on the work of the Centre for Good Work, by Sanna Malinen and Katharina Näswall, and include results of a survey. More information to follow!
